What is the craziest jump you either have or can think of?

Hey guys I have a challenge for all of you:


Question:

What is the craziest jump that either your local track has or you would like to see?

Mine would be a X-over jump with a five foot dropoff between the launch ramp and the landing ramp.

My old track had that! but it was a 3 foot drop from launch to landing! Everybodies car broke from it and they left the track, and then the track lost businness and closed. But it wasnt ONLY because of that jump. They had no parts in their hobby shop so if someone broke a part, they payed $5 to use the track and broke something on the first run and had to leave. No one liked that.

Rcca did the one where they jumped ???s station wagon. Is it Petes??? I cant remember, I would like to see a ramp 10 foot tall with a 45 degree incline made of dirt with a 30 foot gap to the other end and a 20 foot deep pit between it. I can remember when i took my RC to the Empire state building and raced it off the edge... i didnt even break anything! I even have a picture of it. Check it out!

about 25 feet! off a 6 foot jump! with my xxx and a d4 12x3. one of the shocks exploaded and i broke the rear pivot block

I jumped my RC10GT over my chevy, I landed the first few about 27 feet away. I would have gone for more air but I cracked an engine mount after smacking the ground a bit too hard. (note to self: have a banked landing spot)

its on playsttion with gt2 ON the rally corse i got the suziku escudo pikes peak version
i got if off i jump on its side and did a full circle!!! but it didnt happen for real would of been cool

Me too!!!! I did a double on that game that looked like it was atleast 40 feet. I hit it aroud 210 with my Pikes peak car I got 3 seconds of air time!

I jumped my Rustler over my buddies olds cutlass...'bout 17 feet got a really sweet picture of it and if i knew how to attach it you all could have the immense pleasure of seeing it..but i don't!! Hey and it landed Damage free on the wheels...

I had my T-Maxx on a six foot tall quarter pipe!!!

It was really cool till I got about five feet higher than the decking and went over the back railing! Straight down eleven feet was not cool. Only broke the rear body mount though!

story's one is when i jumped my car (ok not a jump) i tryed to turn my car at full speed and i got about 6 feet in the air flipped a few times landed on my back and broke some crap ... all this sound norm besides the fact that it was a RS4 NITRO

ok the second story is when a guy jumped a Losi car (i think) of the top of my LHS (two story) and used a ramp needles to say the car never moved faster

It has always boggled me that there is no formal R/C Jump Truck (or buggy) competition and that there isn't a truck designed specifically for jumping. Psssssstttt Steve, I think I smell a good article!!!

If money is no object, you can recreat my jump. I took out my 15fe out of my Racer 2 and replaced it with a Microjet 1000 jet engine with 28 pounds of thrust at 118,000 rpm! I mounted it using lots of duct tape and could only use the front half of a Diablo body for down force.

We used one of those ground r/c radar devices, which registered 99 mph before my car went thru it, not only shattering it, but also launching it into the air of the mall parking lot where it bounced off of hood after hood of mini van, repeated taking to the air (Note to self, try the CLK body next time). My local "expert" estimates it hit around 200 mph right before it sailed through the 30 foot glass front of the Best Buy store and careened around the inside of the Best Buy big screen television department, finally coming to rest inside the broken tube of a Sony 40 incher.

This is DEFINATELY the way to go if you are looking for the jump of all jumps. I figure it went about 150 feet from the last car to landing in the Sony TV.

Frivoless lawsuit by old lady I scared as she watched free tv in Best Buy 1.4 million (I'm hoping she forgets everything before the trial date, she's 91, I have a shot).

Total cost for 200 mph + NRS4 excluding frivoless lawsuit = $25,750.00

Keep in mind thats the "per jump" price since I only ran the car once that way and it is now just an effective purple anodized and burnt rubber colored paperweight.

(OK, $25,720.00 since I hit a goose when the car was in midflight that I later cooked up for dinner and I figure a whole goose is worth $30.00)

Hauntedmyst, another note, RCCA did a jumping article, they took like 6 trucks, nitro/elec MTs, trx stampede and a couple others and decked them out with all the go high fall hard tough stuff. I had the mag... I lost it, I have been looking for it like mad, it was one of the coolest articles they have put out in my mind.

At my track, we race 1/4 scale cars(4 feet long, 35 pounds) on a veledrome track. The cars go about 60 mph. Going into turn 2, this guys car got squirly. It hit the 3 foot tall wooden fence thing around the track, and it sent his car at least 15 feet from the top of the fence. It was a sight to see. :eek:

I have a Losi XXX-NT that I jumped off of a double set of concrete stairs. About a 10 ft drop and around 40 ft distance using no ramp, with a hard landing onto concrete. The car survived without breaking anything the 3 or 4 times I did it.

Those are great movies! It seems to me the best natural jumpers would be 1. 1/8 buggies, 2. 4 Stadium Truck like the RST MT (If it didnt disintegrate into dust the minute a feather touches it) and finally 3. 2 wd Stadium Trucks. Monster trucks seem too top heavy rallys don't seem to have the suspension for a really good jump. Any thoughts?

I agree Haunted, 1/8th's seem to be the best at jumping, but i think its a close call for the last 3. 1/10th stadium trucks can jump pretty well, but im not too impressed by their reliability, atleast when you compare it to the 1/8th's or the monster trucks. Sure the monster trucks are top heavy, but most of the time the end up rolling back onto their wheels and almost no matter how hard the landing, they keep on going. I've seen some pretty crazy stuff done w the monster trucks.

Hey HauntedMyst, remember those mastercard commercials? You listed all the expenses but you forgot to mention that the look on everyone's faces was priceless! There is always something priceless! :)
And those were some nice movies ProjectTwin! Too bad my roommate is scared to flip his T-Maxx, much less run it off a hill like that!
