Does anyone know how to put Monster Pirate tires on a T-Maxx? I don't have a T-Maxx yet, want to get one around Christmas. But when I do, I want to put Monster Pirate tires on it. Anyone know the price of Monster Pirate tires?

Ofna makes a wheel adapter, part#81175, that allows the use of the Ofna wheels, part #81165. I dont have a price on the adapters yet but the wheels are about $13-14 a pair. The tires, part#81166, are about $26 a pair.

The MP tires dont fit the stock T-maxx wheels. They are to big. Or did you mean to use the stock tires and wheels that come with the truck? If so you missed the point.

The Ofna adaptors are $20 bucks for a set of 4. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

MP tires can go on T rims.

Ofna wheel- 3.92x2.99.....T-maxx wheel- 2.21x3.18..... thats over 1 1/2in wider. You could bring the side walls in far enough to glue them on but the tread pattern would be ballooned up. Not the best contact patch.

I was wondering, would you have to get a different servo to lug those big 'ol tires around?

Yes, a servo with at least 100oz. of torque.Btw a Monster Pirate TIRE is 4.53in. wide and fits a rim 2.97in. in dia.A t-Maxx RIM is 2.21in. wide and 3.18in in dia.The MP tire is 2.32in WIDER than the T-Maxx rim. That's a LOT of stretching and pulling. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

And how much money would I have to rake up for that?

And how hard would it be to put in a servo to a dummy like me? Is it hard, or easy?

probably 30-100, you'll probably spend 50. You'll need a new servo saver too. real easy, unscrew the servo horn, unscrew the servo, unplug the servo from the receiver, plug your new one in, screw your new servo in. Hook your servo saver to the linkage that your old one hooked up to. turn on your receiver and transmiter. turn the nob that says steering trim to the center. turn the wheels straight. And hook your new servo saver back up. Here's a servo you'll never regrete getting http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXTT13&P=7
I think this servo saver will be fine. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p.pgm?Q=1&I=LXS361&P=7
well maybe a little stretching but they'll go on the rims. I promise.

Oh, yeah. I was going to ask what do servo savers do? Obviously they help save your servo, but how?
