Radio question, please help.

I have a Hitec Lynx 3d radio. I went to my LHS to get a receiver to put in my buggy. He didn't have anything and instead ordered me a Novak XXL FM 2 channel receiver. My radio is 3 channels. He said it should work anyway so I picked it up today and when I turn it on, it just glitches. I have the correct crystal installed as well, a Hitec Dual Conversion crystal on the appropriate frequency. Any help?

If you are using the Hitec duel conversion crystal in the XXL..it will not work...you need to get a regular crystal..the Duel conversion one is only for the Duel conversion receiver....
