Hi everyone

me too! It must be very nice coming from a company like XRAY and also since they are taking so much time to release it. I guess the R&D team isn't quite satisfied yet. Its gonna be great though. I'm very excited.

I think my Hyper PCR's gonna be up for sale sometime soon for this thing...

My only concern is that the price may be up there if not higher than the K3 and MBX5...........

Is there anywhere that has more Valid information than a picture? Or did I miss a link on that page?

Unfortunately, no....X-Ray is rather secretive about their new and/or coming chassis.....In fact, afew months ago, there is not even 1 clear picture.....just a bunch of text.

However, I am pretty sure that the XB8 is going to be one strong contender taking that the company's reputation is on the line, plus the fact that this is their first nitro car. It would be no less then the K3 or MBX5 in terms of quality, durability, and chassis performance.

It isn't set in stone, but RCCA listed the XB8 to have a street price of around $675 in an issue a few months back.

hmmm..... 675? I would guess opening prices would fall around 599.99 then. If not a little lower. Thats right around the MBX-5.

plus the fact that this is their first nitro car....

Not to mention Serpent's first offroad car (if I'm not mistaken...correct me if I'm wrong) This is exciting :D :D I've always been a Serpent fan ;)

EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW    :( :(

C-Hub??? NOOOOOO

They'd better include the type of suspension that actually works with it as well.....like they do in the Evo 2

I don't know really, I'm just obsessed with pivot ball for outdoor cars. I think it's smoother and more easily adjustable....

Great looking car, just as expected... :D Going through the specs and descriptions I got more and more worried about one thing: the WEIGHT of the buggy. Looks very good and durable, but what good does that do if it's 30% heavier than the competition? What is included in the weight given in the specs? I couldn't find that anywhere... If it's without engine and wheel and radio, then it IS a very heavy buggy... :( Any thoughts about that?

Weight: 3350gr

That's lighter than a stock MBX5 (3400gr)

Is there any information on what this buggy brings to the table that hasn't already been done with a Kyosho, Mugen or even Ofna. X-Ray is known for producing very nice, ultra precise on road cars but right now there is nothing on the XB-8 that makes me want to park my MBX-5.

Hmmmm..................................the diffs won't leak. Oh, and one more thing...........quality. Good enough reason for me. :)

Here's my thought:
A. Materials used: Hudy plastic (the best), Hudy spring steel (the best), and Swiss T6 aluminum. I've always thought of Mugen parts to be pretty sketchy.
B. Design. the XB8 is designed with no e-clips, no parts replacement for adjustments, minimum cg, and every part you'll ever need for tuning is in the box.

PS: I was wrong about this being Hudy's first offroad car....they had some in the 80's that were popular in Europe (as said in the interview with Hudy on the XRay site)

The new C-hub design they are using is insanely genious. you can change the caster angle in a matter of seconds. I'm shocked that no one else did this much earlier.

When is it coming out? I can only wait so long...

I guess I'll have to see it run first. I mean when the MBX-5 came out it didn't have all the fancy things this X-Ray buggy is gonna have. But for me, the MBX-5 drove so much better than my Kanai buggy that I made the switch. It's fine that it has all that nice stuff on it. I just wanna know if there is some innovation on this buggy that is gonna equate to doing something better on the track...like more steering, more stability, more traction, etc. The X-Ray sedans are nice too but obviously the whole racing world is not switching over to it because the fact of the matter is they don't do anything better than any other particular car...they're just really nice.

I feel the same way as Rog. While the XB8 comes with lots of nice stuff and will probably be extremely well built, there isn't anything there that makes me think it will outperform the current crop of Japanese buggies. This is just speculation though. Maybe the XB8 will be the most dialed in buggy ever?
