Just thought I'd share. This is my first car since jumping back into the hobby a few weeks ago. My first paint job, not too fancy. Car is fun as heck to drive. I bought all the anodized aluminum stuff for looks, not performance, although I'm sure that will help in the future. I know shaving .00001 grams isn't gonna win ME a race. All I gotta do now is sand blast the shock springs and get them cool blue too.
Thoughts? Opinions?

That's very cool. I like simple paint jobs. I have been thinking about getting that car myself.

Looking good! The blue accents are a nice touch. My suggestion, is clean that baby up! As much fun as you have driving it around your yard, you cannot really appreciate it, unless you are driving on a well groomed track. Take a toothbrush,(an old one, duh) and some Simple Green, and just stick it on your toothbrush, and scrub away, it gives you that nice shiny black of when it was new. Use it on the tires too! makes them nice, black, and grippy!

I'm actually pretty meticulous about cleanin' her up. I know what a little grit and grime can do. I really screwed up my first body, I was in the middle of painting when the sprinklers at my apts came on! DOH! Anyway, I'd been breaking the car in across the street in an abandoned lot while waiting for various coats of paint to dry and only had time to blow out the major grit with an air can for the pic. I was aiming for a fade effect with the blue flames, unfortunately the two shades of blue didn't have enough contrast. If you look hard you can see it, but only in really good light. I definitely plan to get racin' soon. I've got a cruddy ESC, so I'm savin' up for a nice Novak Cyclone or something similar, and some NiMH batts. First thing though is plenty of laps on the local track to get back the driving skillz. It's been years since my first car, a Losi JRX-T, ya know, the one with the wack 6(i think) point suspension in the back? I forgot how addicting this hobby is, I'm already thinking of going Nitro Truck next.

DOH!

Very nice buggy, bro. Too bad it's all blue... ;) (I'm tired of blue R/C stuff) That's a great-looking car. One question: what the heck are those round, blue things holding the top of the shocks on? They don't look like ordinary blue-anodized nuts.

I also just bought a XXX BK edition and it is a VERY awesome car. The problem though is that the stock setup does NOTHING at my track! I finally got the setup right tho, at the start of the C Main :) Oh well, that what i get for showing up late and only getting one pack of practice in. Hey Tsunami, i see that your from Huston. Im from Allen, its about 30 minutes north of dallas. If you eve get the chance to go so, go to a track in carrolton called Mikes Hobby Shop. The facility is the best in texas and they constantly change the layout. The track is EXTREMELY fun also! Check their websight out at WWW. MikesHobbyShop.COM. They have practice everyday of the week and its free. On the websight they have a camera that takes live pics of the track - Really cool! check em out and good luck on getting back in the hobby, SWEET CAR!

Those are aluminum shock spacers or something like that. Trinity makes them to replace the plastic ones that come with the kit. I also got a blue screw set that replaces most of the screws on the car, except the ones that need to be really strong(take a serious load/stress). They are not nuts at all, its a special spacer with a flathead allen screw.
