I just recieved a novak xrs speed control with a truck i bought and I was looking at novaks website and its only rated at 40A forward current. Other speed controls, even the sport ones, are rated at least 200A of forward current. The motor limit for it (15 turns) will be fine as I plan to run stock or 15+ turn modifieds anyway. Will the lower forward current make the esc send less power to the motor? I will be racing against people with higher end speed controls and I just wanted to make sure it wont make a difference. I know that the typical draw on the batteries is 30A when running stocking motors, so would this even make a difference?

It's hard to say, since that's a brand new ESC(so I doubt many people have any personal experience with it), but if Novak says it can handle a 15 turn motor, then I'd trust their judgement, but I wouldn't push it any more than that...
