What sould my freind get a nitro or electric? He has a Traxxas Rustler, in three days he popped two shocks and smashed the front bumper to pieces, he also stripped the pinon gear. I don't think he is the RC type, but what should he get nitro or electric next he has tons of cash so nitro or electric and what model?

If he's a beginer I would say get the electric car. Nitro cars are going to be more difficult for a beginer to keep running right. I really dont like nitro cars Ive had a few and I'll never give up electric.

One of my friends has a Rustler, and he has put it through alot of stuff and driven it hard!....Well nothing like that has ever happend, the Rustler is a strong truck unless you drive it stupidly! If he has cash and is ready to take care of it, get an electric.....stay away from nitro! Nitro isn't bad but it just takes time and some steady cash to keep it up and running....and for you to have a some no how! Get a Team Associated RC10T3, the truck kicks! Im not a very big fan of Losi.....get what you want and like thats what counts, just enjoy yourself it should never seam like your JUST racing. Have fun, spend some cash, and break some parts! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

nitro is funner, and harder, but it's not hard. The only hard thing about it is tuning the engine, but with a temp gun it's fairly easy.Run time is limited to how much nitro you have. AND iT SOUNDS AWSOME.
First off I hate electric. That annoying "eeeewwwwwweeewwwweee". You have to charge batteries. lucky if you get 15 mins out of a pack, very lucky(depends on kind of pack).
I'm sick of this electric is for begginers. Yes electric is pretty easy, but so is nitro. You should write down what you want in a r/c then decide. Ya want realizm, go nitro, want speed, go nitro, ya want all out fun, go nitro.

IMO, there is a direct relationship between difficulty & enjoyment. Electric cars are easy & have an OK fun factor, nitro is more trouble, especially at first during the learning curve but the satisfaction when you get it right is much higher. Also, in the long run nitro is cheaper once you get past the initial investment.
