It depends on how you define better. If making a lot of noise and oily mess is your idea of better, then gas. If you like silence and burning your fingers soldering, then electric. Whats that you say? Which is faster? The fastest cars in the world are electric but nitro heads never read and comprehend those articles and will claim nitro is. so the answer is, it's all a great mystery and just buy one.

In my opinion, Nitro=alot of work, and a little play for a begginer in nitro!Electric=Alot of fun, easy to modify, hardly any breakdowns if you take care of it properly!

I've always ran nitro and I love it because of the power and the run times but its a pain to maintain sometimes-especially the engines. It always seems like something is going wrong. My friend just got an L3 (electric) and I love it. Its so quiet and its still pretty fast. Plus it can be driven indoors. The only bad thing is the power drops off as the battery dies. Its up to you and both have pros and cons. If you don't want a lot of maintaince go electric but nitro is well worth the work when its running.

the average nitro is faster than the average electric and as far as that whole electric is fastest in the world that is true for the moment but they are constantly triing to outdo each other. First it was gas, then electric toped that at 95mph then gas toped that again at almost 102mph now electric has just toped it again at 111mph. As far as witch is better I would assume you are new being that you asked that qestion so for you probly electric. After you learn more you might want to upgrade to gas that is how I started out. :)

I'd have to agree with the Nitro'ers
I started way back when with electric and after about 8 years finally broke down and bought a nitro. OMG! :o Why did I wait so long?
The down side of nitro: you have to run it outside. The biggest perk: no recharging of batteries! :D Refill on the fly and keep going!
(I've sence given my electric cars to my kids)
:D  :D  :D

If you're looking for a first R?C then go with electric. But like many, I have sold all remaining electrics (except for my mint Lunchbox) and converted completely to Nitro. I also wondered why I waited so long to get into nitro.

true electrics hold the speed record , who cares what kind of run time did that car have at that speed 30-45 seconds then got slower and slower until 2 minutes later all done , how much did it cost to go that fast , the average electric mod will turn laps faster then the gas on smaller or tight med. size tracks , but not a whole lot faster, on the larger tracks where the gas guys can clear them out for more then a two or three seconds then the gas vehicles blow by the electric vehicles , and they can do it for hours on end.
