Alright, I'm sorry for posting the auction links, Steve. I just read over the rules again.

I like the Avante 2001. Before my time in RC, but the car sure looks cool. Later

Really? If Steve tells me, then I'll edit my post. I've seen some posts with auctions one them, so I'm confused. Gotta go read the rules...

Heh, I found it. That would be a neat buggy to have. Unfortunately the Avante 2001 is by far one of the most difficult of the Tamiya kits to get parts for, and replacing those parts that are missing would be nearly impossible. A carbon fiber chassis set for the Avante 2001 just sold on ebay yesterday for $100... would be neat to get both of them.

Didn't say that is was missing like a few screws and bearings though? (I was actually looking for a clodbuster and came across that so I didn't read carefully, but I knew you wanted one so I posted it) That shouldn't be too hard to find. Is the Avante and the Avante 2001 the same car?

The Avante 2001 is an update to the original Avante. It had revised suspension (which didn't look as neat because it was mostly plastic instead of aluminum). The 2001 however is more rare than the original. I wouldn't mind having one, but I want to get an original Avante first because I love the all-aluminum suspension.

If I didn't have a few large bills to pay in the next week, I'd probably pick that kit up anyways. I wouldn't mind having an Avante 2001, especially one NIP, even if it is missing a few small parts.

Gokou - How can he call it NIP when it's missing parts? You'll be searching forever to try and find the parts for that thing. It is a really cool buggy though. I would save the money for when you buy the original Avante. I would rather have the original too.
