I got a bunch of green style connectors in the other day, not sure what they are. Anyone know about these connectors? The are pretty big and have one long side to side prong covered by the green plastic.

if im not wrong...green is negative. the dark color is always negative and the lighter color is always positive. but not sure....could be the other way around

Cain by your description those sound like RACE PREPS. They are all I use. If you click on the enlargements of the electrics here (http://www.nytebyte.com/personal/rides.html), you'll see them on the ESC's.

The female side is going to be a square box with two metal plates inside, and they also come in bright orange. They only have like .000001 more resistance than deans, are easier to solder and take apart, and have never loosened up on me. The female side goes to the battery and the part you describe goes to the ESC.

If you do not want them PM me. If they are new and unused, maybe I have something you might want to trade out.

I don't use these type of connectors as I use powerpoles. They look like some have been used, others haven't, I have quite a few of them.

Do you have any of the female sides? Are they just like the ones in the pics (link above)? I If you can take a pic, that would be good - also let me know what kind of RC stuff you use, chances are pretty good I've got some usable stuff we can swap out.

I chucked them up on ebay. search for cainlord and my auctions are there. I think I also have two connectors with pigtails on them as well. Basically what you see is what is there.

Yup, 'Dem's the ones. No one likes them, I started using them 10 years ago. Got ya on da watch man! :D

Not sure why no one likes them. They look to be easier to assemble than deans and they stay together pretty well. I am just already invested in Powerpole connectors.

The main advantage over Powerpoles is that they are hermaphroditic. The connectors are both male and female at the same time. This means you don't waste $$$ on a female half when you need a male half.!

The big problem with both Race Prep and Deans is that you have to shrink wrap the joint between the connector and the wire. With Powerpoles, this solder joint is insulated by the connector housing itself!

If I remember correctly Race Prep went "Green" as a way to prevent people from plugging stuff in backwards. and that the green and orange connectors were 100% compatable.

Dr. Diff, I think got what you said but powerpoles are both male and female as well unlike deans. That and the fact you can run shorter wire as you don't have to run both wires to one connector is why I use them.

Nah, you really don't have to, with a neat soldering job it's highly unlikely you'd drop something metal across the poles. We just do it because it looks cool and is that much safer.

The orange and green ones are identical, and the female side has a tab on it to prevent the male part from sliding in backwards.
