Hello all,

Just wondering what a good battery/charger combo would be for an older RC/10 Team car with older electronics, I was going to sell the car in favor of a Losi Mini T however I just couldn't bring myself to doing it as the car has too much history with me, instead I will dump some of the old parts that I no longer need, get a new body for it and hopefully pick up a few battery packs and a new more modern charger, however I am wondering if the new packs will work with my old equipment and also what some good low cost batteries are?

currently I have a Pro Tech 702 charger however I would like something alot smaller as it is rather big and clumsy, also any battery suggestions that are low cost are appreciated...mainly for running stock motors.

Thanks

You didn't say what type of other older electronics you have. The ESC, RX, and servos should all work fine with today's stuff, but if you get NIMH batteries you are going to need a nimh charger, you cannot use your old nicad charger on them.

Kudos on keeping the RC 10, check out the AE threads in the vehicles forum, you'll find many RC10 owners there.

Currently for electronics I have a Novak 410M1C ESC, Tekin TERX micro reciever and a Futaba mini servo. I am trying to sell my old Nicad charger and would like to get a few more modern batteries, didn't know what good AC/DC chargers that were out there and preferably smaller than my current unit and also if this would work with my electronics and or my astro flight zero loss connectors.

Thanks

I don't see a problem with the newer battery packs working with your older ESC. You may want a newer ESC just to be more efficient. I am not sure what class you run or will run in, but the duratrax streak esc is nice for the money, also the futaba MC230CR and MC330CR are good units.

The 410 will be fine, that's still a pretty good ESC! If the micro servo works for you, no need to change it but if you have trouble with it pushing in hard corners, you might consider something with higher torque.

RC10'S ROCK! WOOT! lol...

anyway... no one has really awnserd your question...

For a charger, the Duratrax intellipeak mini Charger is great. Little expensive, but a HUGE space saver. NiMH / NiCd, .5-6.5 amp charge, AC/DC, Cycle (But it only discharges at like .5 >_<), erases most memory on NiCd... overall great charger. I have had no problems other then the time i drop'ed it from about 10 ft... only problem i have now is a bent case. SO its fairly durable too!.

As for batteries, any 3300's will do. For racing i recomend the Trinity VIS Matched gp3300's... or if you wait... 3600's!
