What I have done before to get a metallic look is dust in some white pearl very lightly and evenly over the area that the orange is going on then lay down the orange and back it in white.

weird, I just did this
Fluorescent orange(Pactra) backed w/ Indy Silver(Pactra)..it comes out looking like a very pearly orange(keep the orange coat thin). I'll have pics up withinn a few minutes, although my camera doesn't tend to pic up the 'pearl' very well.

as expected the orange pearl didn't show up well.

Try some iredescent scarlet by createx, add some regular opague orange and it will come out looking like metallic orange. you could also add a drop or two of black and get burnt orange.
I started a thread a while back "metallic orange escalade" was the color I got with the orange/scarlet mix

1. Spray Flourescent Orange(thin coat)
2. Let it dry fully
3. back with Silver thick coat
It comes out looking like that Lamborghini Orange. It's really a nice color, I wish I knew someone locally with a high rez camera....maybe some pics in the sun will show it better.

If you mix some Faskolor neon orange with Fasescent yellow you will get a very nice metallic orange.

I think I'll try Janders' method, as I will be using Pactra Polycarb spray cans as well. An airbrush is on my list, though! :D:D Thanks for all the help.

Just be sure to spray the Orange very thin and even. And show us some pics when it's done :D
