maybe you'll be fine if you gear it really really low or something but i think it'll just go and shutdown :P

hey you should have no prob at all
i had a esc rated at 20t limit and had a 17t motor in it for a year wiith no probs.
now i have an esc with 14t limit with a 14t motor.
you should be good.
just check for heat

There's a bigger difference between a 10 and a 12 T then a 20 and a 17 T motors. Your dealing with higher amperages in the lower turn motors. Any time you go past the rated limit of an ESC your asking for trouble. Yeah sometimes you can get away with it but eventually it's going to bite you on the butt.

chances are the ESC will go into thermal shutdown...
or just run slower then it should due to less amp output or something...

you asked what would happen to your esc if you ran it with a 10 turn, and he gave you an decent answer. Why are you telling him to shut up?
I personally would not go past the motor limit on any esc. The manufactures will not replace the esc if its your fault you fried the esc. Just use a 12t, you will not be dissapointed.

Hey, everyone! STFU....I actually own one. I have the Streak...and I run a 11turn. It does get a little hot. I think it can handle a 10 turn. You can't say it can't until you try it. Just every min, then 30 seconds...bring it to you and see how hot it is. Run it without the body first....Then if it doesn't get too hot, run it with it. What vehicle are you running it in?

The Streak can handle 10 cells and a 12 turn. so with 6 cells (I'm assuming) and a 10 turn you should be fine.

guys. please treat all other members with respect around here. telling someone to "STFU" is plain disrespectful and im pretty sure no one likes being told that.
as for the esc issue, i personally would not challenge the motor limits, because there will be no warranty coverage etc etc. if you want, you could always try but like others have mentioned, it might go into thermal shutdown or just go poof.
to the person who opened this thread, i think that you should be more respectfull of others as well. you opened a thread for help and as people are replying with help, you tell them to shut up?
why cant we all just get along :o
edit - i dont think the streak can handle 10 turns but i may be wrong.

I second that...treat people with respect especially when they are only trying to help you.
Shad yours may handle it just fine but that's no guarentee all of them will. Reccomending anything other then what the manufacturer says may cause someone to burn up their electronics. Remember these things are mass produced so the quality goes up and down all over the place. One may come out indestructable whereas another could easily blow before you come close to the limit.

i say go for it,the esc is rated for a maximum of 300amps,show me a 10 turn that draws 300amps!

esc are usually tested on 2wd pan type cars. so they have less load on the motor and esc. So what i have heard to do is run one or two turns less than what it says it is limited to. Like Explorer II is a 15 turn limit, in offroad truck i would run a 17turn at lowest. always if trying a motor, feel the esc every once and a while make sure it is not hot.
