This is an E-mail that was just sent to me from the 'X' owner of the boat. He said it ran over 40mph.

"The engine was a "GT-2000" trimmer engine bought brand new. I found the cylinder from a "GT-2100" would fit and had the same bore and larger transfers and higher compression. When I broke the original cylinder I replaced with the 2100. Raised the exhaust timing a lot and decked the cylinder to increase compression. Water cooled it. Modded the transfers some. Put on a tuned pipe and a WA-167 carb. Still used the clutch and made my own mounts. By that time I'd spent as much as a stock Zenoah and wasn't as fast, so I just worked on props, and raced it (in novice) until the season was over. It ran about as fast as a good Homelite but the engine was about 3 lbs. lighter than a Homelite, so it handled much nicer. And it was very durable and dependable. It always finished its races. A stock Zenoah is a nicer and more durable engine than a modded anything else, unless you already have the whatever else and just want to give it a go."
