G'Day all --(and specifically Lin) A little background info on me before I start the rant lol :D I have followed with great interest the launch and development of GWS slowfly products since the appearance of the Pico stik.So impressed was I that I privately imported my own stiks from the States (over 18 months ago)and have been merrily flying them since -- now I also boast 2 full fuses and a tiger moth in construction-- all are fitted with GWS servos - speed controls vary (Jeti-Electrifly and some excellent U-whizz ones--local product) as does recievers (hitec-jeti) Recently there has been greater exposure here of GWS products -- Thank god as they are the lifeblood of my modelling- the best value bang for buck i have experienced from a commercial retailer-- great quality at a reasonable price- Australia is a little isolated when it comes to slowfly but thanks to GWS its getting there? Now to the fun bit -- here in Aus -- I guess there are three major players in the import stakes Dawn Trading and Model Engines and Hobby Headquarters (they are getting there i think?) I must stress that I have no commercial interest in aeromodelling apart from spending my dollars! What I am finding now is that there is actually a lesser range of GWS gear locally than previous -- funny that ?? Pricing from the major players who import the goodies is keeping them off the shelves -- for example i previously could pick up a Naro (9gr) servo for $36 the same servo now hits $49-50 bucks-- an increase of $20 in a period of little or no foreign exchange fluctuation??--Also availabilty is such they need to be ordered now-- maybe dealers dont want to carry excess burden? Now the gap between Hitech HS 50's/55's is only a few bucks -- and the dealers have them on the shelves!!The point of this missive is simply this-to get GWS firmly in the market place the importers have to make sure the product hits the shelves nationally and not just in the dealers who use the products themselves-- I only say this as I am a big fan of GWS and what it stands for -- I want to see it grow here- and I want to pay a competative price(by worldwide standards)
It is my understanding that the kits are brought in by one hobby outlet alone and the ancillary gear by one of the distributors (who shall both be nameless)if i am mistaken then forgive me?-- But fine products like these need to be readily available -- not all are as patient as myself?
So what say you fellow Aussies??

Sorry to hear what you said about Australia price problems about GWS Naro servo.

Pls write me e-mail privately on this subject. Like to hear from you again, lets find a better solution.

I always ask RC modelers to support their nearest local dealer. But also expect GWS products to be supplied at reasonable margin, not because of other products still expensive, and add on more profit to sell GWS proucts. That will hurt GWS and modelers!:(

However, it too sensitive to talk it here!:p

e-mail to GWS: servoman@ms1.seeder.net

Thanks for your suggestion bring me attention Australia distribution.

I have recently bought myself the GWS J3-F Cub and boy am I happy.

Although, I have to fly in the early morning, I am realy happy with the performance and strength of the standard plane.:D :D :D

Although, I had the choice of buying from southern dealers, I chose to buy from the local hooby shop as I believe that they will be there to support you if you need them.

My local hobby shop sells to me at the same price or just slightly dearer then the southern shops, but I wouldn't take my buisness elswhere.

My experience to date has been that the local hooby shop will stock stuff if they know they have the local support.

I am eagerly awaiting, the rerelease of the B2 and the relase of the A-10 by GWS (I then have to convince the wife to let me buy them).:D :D
