Yes John, I noticed that I'm #500 when I signed up. BTW, thanks for the help.
Ken
PS: I just ordered one of those scales you were talking about, and it was only $60 and when you pay with PayPal they ship it for free. Boy you can't beat that with a stick
:D

The topic "Scale" of 6-26-01 shows it all.
Here is the last reply I posted on that topic:
More details: the A&D HL-400 has a capacity of 400g/14oz, readability of 0.1g/0.01oz, has a 5" x 5" platform, and reads in ounces as well as grams for $108. Remember that 0.01 ounce = 0.2835 grams, so a scale that accurately weighs to 0.1g is almost three times as precise as one that weighs 0.01oz. This brings up the question, "why do we need such precision?" Well, maybe you don't. Last week, when I lightened my GWS Pico receiver to 4.1g, I looked at my 2.9g SH&R receiver and thought, "if I replace the heatshrink and antenna, I might save as much as a gram." To determine if the heatshrink from www.nyblimp.com (http://www.nyblimp.com) is much lighter than the stock heatshrink, 0.1g resolution may not be good enough. On a 30-40gram plane, one gram would be noticeable in performance.
Precision Weighing Balances, www.balances.com (http://www.balances.com) and www.scaleman.com (http://www.scaleman.com) has almost too many to choose from. I was a bit overwhelmed by their selection. In their $70-$100 balance link, I found this: http://balance.balances.com/myweigh/proscale250.html
This balance looks like a very good value. 250g/9oz x 0.1g, plus parts counting, for $65 on Paypal, shipping included.
I hope that I am not being too verbose, but I'm just looking for answers and trying to inform.
