Does anyone know how to modify servos to be speed controls? I know it can be done through the use of some type of transistor. Ive seen a website that had that controlled 30v motors. Even if it is for smaller currents we can use the info and adapt it for larger motors.

Servo's into speed controls??

They use servos on Mechanical Speed Controls, to move the lever thing :confused:

Thats a new one on me.... Im not even sure how that could be possible... Well I guess you could gut it an insert an ESC...

It used these two chips that were some type of transistor and put them in place of the motors. Basically it just used the servo amp, which can use signals from RC radios to control transistors. Transistors take a small current and control larger current that would be impossible to handle otherwise.

It can be done but we dont know the specifics and wanted to be sure before we ruined a servo.

Heres a pic of what the chip looked like;
