I know it is best to paint dark colors first but the idea I have requires me to paint most of the body white. What is the best way to back the white so that when I paint the darker colors (red mainly) it won't effect the white that is already been put on?
Would backing the white with silver do the trick?
Thanks

You'll be fine as long as you back it well enough for it to be completely opaque (you can't see through it when you hold it up to the light.)
Silver will work great.

I would back the white with silver and make sure it's totally cured (dried) before spraying anything else. I would also build up the other colors in light coats.

I would take it a step further. For the white, I would spray it with Pactra White from a can, it's denser then Fascolor white. Then I would back it with Pactra Indy Silver, again, it's denser then Parma Faspearl Silver. Then I would back it again with Pactra White. I've done it with double backing like that and never had a problem with bleed through. It also works with yellow, silver, and other light colors.
