i have a hacker brushless motor and esc, and i only have one battery pack, can i hard wire the battery to the esc and charge the battery while it is connected? the esc is hard wired to the motor to also so.... and im not worried bout changing batteries cuase its the only decent pack i have.

simply put, no

the esc is powered up anytime the battery is conected. when you turn the switch on/off, its controlling the power to the radio gear. if you leave the battery conected, the esc will be permanently on, and thats not good for it. charging a battery when its conected to the ecs isnt a good thing either.

Most ESCs control power to the rest of electronics so turning off the switch shuts off power to everthing else even coming from battery pack - it's still connected but power is off. It's not a good idea to leave battery connect as things can happen (leakage, corrison or shorts) but guys did leave battery in vehicle, planes or boats what they did was use a Y harness to connnect or disconnect to speed contol or servo while the other was used to connect to charger.
