i'm going to enter the stock electric class at my local track. there is one long straight and a few tight turns. which stock motor do you think would be best for the application. i'm using an hpi mini pro and gm v4r.
MVP Stock Plus Rebuildable
Orion Core Stock RS
Orion Core Stock RS Dyno-Tuned
Pro-Match Stock Motor DR2
Trinity P2K2 Stock Motor
if there is a motor that you feel i have overlooked please let me know. either rank the motos in order from highest (1) to lowest (10) or just state your opinions. thanks
would it be a good idea to pick up an extra armature with the motor as well?
thanks for all the help

Reedy MVP, mad power, LoL. And even if you do accidently overgear it, it'll still last you a while. Makes my XXX KE almost look like a mild mod. Good torque and massive rpm when I drive mine ..

Chris is right, it does have good power but i like to run Orion or Peak. those are good but you have to gear them right or BOOM.

The MVP is a muti track motor, in that it's power band can work on a variety of track layout from tight to large tracks, while the Trinity motors like the P2K2 are for tight, short tracks and the GM3, MS2 (monster stock2) work on wide long tracks or better for oval where you don't get off throttle, but can work on smaller tight tracks with a different gear ratio. Haven't used the Peak or Orion motors for a long time.
Having an extra armature or two is good, if you don't have a comm truer or can get the comm true when it's needed then having a replacement arm is great. I usually have 2 replacements that are freshly trued (but I have a comm truer) so if a comm shows wear all I do is replace it - true it when I get home. Saves time, in the event I have other repairs to make.

i run stock class in sydney,i use a MVP REEDY,YOU WILL NEED TRACK TIME LIKE ANY MOTOR TO GEAR IT PROPERLY,what batteries are u, using how long are your heats, tire height ,all comes back to gearing,by the way mvp,s dont like heat so dont just run any gearing, ive tried just about all the stock motors,i stuck with the reedybecause its the most predictable one out there,a good honest spread of power.dont worry to much about the watts mine is 95 watts at 6.75v,ive seen over 120watts out of these engines not shore on volts they were using .:D
