I picked up an old boat for free from my buddie's brother...

Its just what ive been looking for, its a single motor(600) electric boat. It just has a mechanical speed control, nothin special at all.
Perfect for a retrieval boat.

It didnt come with servos, OR servo linkages, and this is where i cant get it right.

I need a linkage for the mechanical speed control, and a linkage for the rudder.

Does anyone have any tips? Or links to linkages that may work?

And help is appreciated.

Peace,
Jordan

If it helps any, its about a 91 model, and its called the "Turbo Vee" im not sure, but it may be similar to tower hobbies "Turbo Vee II"

If you have the money, replace the mechanical speed control with an electronic speed control (ESC). You can get some fairly cheap for this boat and you will have a lot less hassle, the motor will run better and you'll have less heat and less electrical resistance. Otherwise any Hobby Shop should be able to set you up with the linkages that you need for well under $5.00. 2-56 threaded piano wire is all that you need and some connectors for the other end.

As i believe i mentioned, this boats only purpose is a retrieval boat. It will be retrieving my gas boats when i run out of fuel or stall out in the middle of the lake. Just because im sick of swimming :p ...

But i may end up putting an esc in it anyhow, i know i have an old traxxas XL-1 around my house somewhere...

As for the piano wire, ill check it out, thanks... (i already have servo horns, so i should be set then??! correct?)

No problem Jordan. Myself and others give out a lot of advice in here and sometimes we don't hear about the outcome. If it worked for you, great! Sometimes our advice doesn't work, rarely, but it does happen. It's hard to put into words once in a while what we are trying to say to someone.
