I have Blue Foam now. I was looking for a supplier of this foam in SoCal. There are only a very few. A friend got some and gave me a couple of sheets. My goal is to make an Aerobatic flyer using an MG-1 and 2 1200 LiPoly Cells. I would like to see if I can make one that will hover. This will be my practice plane for learning that maneuver. I figure that if I munch it I will not be too sorry if I only spend about 50¢ for the airframe. The other equipment will be salvageable, hopefully.

I plan on making it four channels (AER and motor). I will use 2 CS-5.4s for rudder and elevator and one HS-55 for the ailerons. I want the wing to be removable for transport. For that I will mount the aileron servo off center on the wing so I can slide the wing into a slot in the fuselage.

I will make the fuselage from three sheets using lightening holes in the middle one and glue them with Probond Polyurethane glue. The three sheets stacked will give me a bit of room for the battery and receiver to be mounted flush. I will start off with no landing gear.

It will have a wingspan of about 30 inches, wing cord of about 8 inches and length of about 30 inches.

I have attached a picture of the fuselage parts before gluing. I took the skin off the foam of all but the outside. Center, biggest, has no skin and the two others only on one side.

Later,
Dan
