Electric Owners

Pros:
Generally as racers, they are all on the drivers stand ready to race at the start because their cars didnt "volt out" 5 seconds before the race.

They understand that battery charging is no big deal and if they want to run a lot, they just recharge one or two batteries while they are running another.

As a whole, from my observation, take better care of their equipment.

Cons:

Tend to be over sensitive that their stock motor cars aren't as fast as RTR Nitros.

Claim their batteries last 45 minutes on a charge!

Nitro Owners:

Pros:

Revel in the sound and smell of nitro!

Don't mind getting dirty (the tell tale sign is nitro stained pants and shirt)

Positive thinkers: Are always thinking "one more mod and I can hit 70!"

Think the start of the race is more of a guideline then a rule, when their car starts, they'll start racing regardless whether or not the bell sounded one minute ago.

Cons:

Forget the fastest cars in the world are battery powered.

Someone always tries putting on some thing goofy like "ram air" and it never works. Ever.

Forget their cars require batteries as well and have little to no concept of battery maintenance.

Yeah, those of us that are run are just spazes. We don't know which way the wind is blowing, and we don't care, we have a car for every occasion. :D

I thought of another one:

Nitro Racers:

Cons:

Always claim their cars are more realistic but when was the last time you saw a real race car with foam tires? Can't you just picture the giant size tire truers next to the pits at Indy shooting foam bits all over the place? Or the GIGANTIC single tuned pipe hanging off the side of a NASCAR? Or the drivers in the LeMan's holding a giant screw driver to adjust the carb as the conditions change, his head hanging out the window while he looks for more smoke?

Oh I dont know...

Just yesterday I was watching some midget car racing at pikes peak on the speed channel. One car came in to have a tire changed, and instead of an air wrench like NASCAR and CART and others use, the tire changer brought out a huge 4 way wrench! It looked exactly like the ones that come with most RTR vehicles and some kits! (I'm sure we all have a few lying around) The thing was, it was the same size as one of those scale to the car! It was one of the funniest things I ever saw:D

<--- stuffed spaz loves this thread. :D

Actually both have their merits. With electric owners, you will never have that incessant "can't get my engine tuned" sound. This means that they will always be running in some form or fashion and makes them much more dependable when you invite them over to burn off some packs. With nitro owners, you'll never hear "hot packs - am I overgeared?" or "is this auto charger false peaking?" This means that when they run, you sometimes begin to worry if they'll ever go home. On the up side, eventually they'll run out of fuel - just don't ever let on about the case of nitro gallons in your basement and you'll be fine.

HAHAHAHA! now we just need to keep this baby at the top so we dont have 4 threads going on this topic at any given time!

I race both (stuffed spaz), and on the whole i find nitro racers (off-road at least) are more easy going than electric racers. Maybe because the finals are longer they know that there is more of a chance to catch up where as electric is more intense (at least in my experience)

Here's an old link which fairly well covers all sides of the topic. (http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=124319)

If you read the thread title closely, it appears this thread is discussing the personality of drivers rather than the differences of the classes of cars itself.

This thread is a parody of those threads which reappear every twenty minutes and more of a discussion of the owners, not the differences between the two platforms. Pay attention! :D

Hey WATCH IT.

That's Hand-wound tight, not stock tight.

Shesh guys! Lighten up! I'm well aware what parody is, however, they are more generalized observations than parody. I really not sure that meets the definition of parody. Why? Because they are true. If you closely read the subject when I replied, it was an attempt to spice up the thread. If you bother to follow the link, you don't have any trouble identifying the personalities. In fact, you'll find that many are, in deed, wound up rather tight. Case in point?

Could I of been more verbose in explaining it when I provided the link? Sure! Do I do a crappy job of offering up the link? Yep! I posted it in a hurry and got spanked for it. Did I really need to do better? One could only hope not.

Should you bother to read it, it highlights the defensive nature of electric guys, big time! It also touches on just about every other point brought up. Parody or not, sarcasm or not, I find it funny to see such observations hit the nail on the head. Want to see how close it is to real life? Read the thread. Laugh. Enjoy!

You pretty much described me under nitro owners, except for the first 2 cons.
