Is there a good instruction/technical manual on how to use a lathe properly online? I've received my lathe, and it looks pretty straight forward (I've got an old useless stock arm. I'm going to test on) but I want to read up before I try anything and make sure my eyes don't deceive me.

Depending on the manufacturer you may need to shim the cutting bit. With the Cobra lathe I cut out a piece of scrap lexan and placed under cutting bit. This raises cutting tip a little above the center of the Comm.

When I got my Cobra lathe years back the instructions were clear on the proper positioning or shimming of the cutting bit.
