what are some good sportpack batteries to buy? I currently run v-maxx 2400 and just ordered 2 team orion super-duty plus 3000 batteries. I'm currently practicing at my local track and will soon be ready to race my losi xxx-t rtr. Should I break down now and buy matched cells and solder them or can i wait until i progress into a higher class. thanks

Well... if you are running stock you might think about some good matched NICD packs. They have more punch than the NIMH cells. But if you are mainly just racing for mostly fun and playin around. Your packs that you have now should be fine. I would say stick with the ones you have.
Although... the Reedy XCell 3300 matched packs are pretty cool!!! But I dont think you need those.:D :p ;) :)

if u havent looked at the batterys lately, nicds are way out of date for racing. and nimh have more punch. I have 1.171 gp's. Thats no where near what a nicd could ever do and the runtime from the gps lengthen out this punch as well. faster over your whole run than a nicd.

I was talking about the same price range. if you got a 40$ 2400 or a 40$ 3000. i do agree... the 3300 batts are great. But I think he is a sport racer... where 2400's will do fine.

Henry - haven't you already been told that you're going to get what you pay for, and that stick packs aren't good for racing? You asked that on another thread. I'm not trying to berate you here, but you can only just get good quality NiCads for that kind of money, never mind a good NiMH pack...or two. Get what you pay for. It would probly be more worth your while to spend the 40 bucks on a good pair of NiCad packs that will at least perform up to expected levels.
