Electric Buggies: Pros and Cons??

What are the pros and cons of electric 2wd buggies that are 1/10 scale. I know they dont go extreme speeds but how are they for off road or even on road?

Versus what, gas buggies or cars.
Each has high and low points.
Gas may offer longer runtimes - higher speeds depending on vehicle. Down side is ruining an engine by improper fuel & air mixture or glow plug that burns out or using the right mixture.
Electric cars are cleaner, cost vs gas are about the same.
Speeds depending on vehicle can be very close to gas powered for short periods. The pan cars (oval racing chassis) are very light and can achieve speeds of 45 to 80 mph in race trim (6cells and a modified motor) depending on the size of the track.

With any vehicle properly setting up the chassing for good handling, gearing the motor or engine properly and doing maintenance on it are the key factors in keeping a vehicle running time after time. Neglect or bad advice leads to a minor problem becoming a major headache.
