Hey my brother bought the Tamiya FRP chassi for his car and it made for a better handling and it maid it lighter and stronger. You can try that along with
Throtl Hapie Ideas.

Bearings first. Then ESC, then a better motor, start with a stock motor. The p2k is good. Then get some decent batteries and charger (like duratrax 2000's and an MRC superbrain). After that you should try experimenting with different shock oils, springs, and tires for improved handling.

The Skyline tuned gear set is also a must have.. The torque spliter is also good... just go to www.tamiya.com (http://www.tamiya.com) and look up all the optional parts for the car, you will be surprised at how many there are.

how about the gears, should i change the ratios?

Hey Tanga... Tower Hobbies carries the FRP Chassis upgrade... i got one and it's cool also the FRP front & rear shock towers are good additions

Yes its for the TAO2 just go to towerhobbies like TA03 Drive Hard said. :)

If you're lookin' for aftermarket parts i.e. aluminum rear suspension arms, they're extremely hard to find! unless anybody knows of a great site that has em leave me a link...

another good hop-up is the speed-tuned gears... although there is a slight diff in speed but it's decent :D

Just to let some peeps know... i am a TA03 & 02 fanatic... hmm i got 7 03s... is that enough? ;)

Throtl Hapie
05-28-2001, 05:27 PM
NO! You should get more. I think they look cool, I want to get a ta03r. I have a ta03f Lancer Evo V, I love it!

I got a TA03R, but I don't use it anymore. I took the radio out of it and put it in my B3, cause I think offroad is awesome!

If I ever upgrade my radio and speed control, I'll probably put the old gear in the 03 and start driving it again.

Hi guys.

About a year and a half ago, RCCA made a project Wide-Track F-150. The main chassis and the top plate seems to be made of carbon fiber, but it is not mentionned in the part list. Is it what you are refering as FRP something or it's a different hop-up ???

Another quick question : I know the TA02 have gear diff in front, but what about the rear diff : ball or gear ???

tanga
05-28-2001, 11:46 PM
thanks guys!

Marnat,

mine is gear but im planning to make it ball. :)

TA03 Drive Hard
05-29-2001, 02:32 AM
The 02 kit i got had gear diff in the front and ball diff in the rear...

Hmm i should get more 03s... they're actually fun to drive...

Hey they do have a carbon-fiber kit for the 02... but GPM sells it... but it will take a special order for it... (correct me if i'm wrong guys)

TA03 Drive Hard
05-29-2001, 02:35 AM
Hey if you want to really trick out your 02... why not put the front-one-way gear diff? i'm sure it will handle well... i put a front-one-way gear diff in my TL-01 and it handles great!!! :D Hmm i should buy another 02 and try that  if anyone thinks that's cool, let me know.... ;)

05-29-2001, 04:36 AM
i dont think anybody mentioned this (i might have missed it) but whenever ive read reviews of tao2 based cars, theres always mention of the shaft that runs to the front gearbox being flimsy. so i guess a stiffer shaft would be a good upgrade?

tanga
05-29-2001, 10:58 AM
i think my car is too heavy, i want to reduce the weight. what will i do?

TA03 Drive Hard
05-29-2001, 02:15 PM
Hey that's what i was lookin for... cause i know Kose made tons of parts for the 02...

Hey Billy... what kinda motor and esc you runnin' in your 02?

Billy
05-29-2001, 02:30 PM
Im running a trinity greenmachine 3 pro with an old team novak 410-M1 high frequency megafet esc handles 4-10 cells down to 13t motors it maybe old but i have never had any problems with it been thinking of getting the novak explorer2 like the push button setup.

Billy
05-30-2001, 12:32 AM
GPM makes an aluminum drive shaft for the tao2. Tanga get the tamiya frp chassis and shock stay's it will reduce some weight tamiya also has hollow carbon gear shafts not the propeller shaft i heard it breaks easy, aluminum pressure plates for the rear ball diff, titainium screws, aluminum king pin's, Just some of the things i did to mine and it's fast as **** and handles good. hope this help's oh i saw some aluminum a-arms on ebay for it not sure if there still there they were made by KOSE.

TA03 Drive Hard
05-30-2001, 02:22 AM
Dang... that esc must do you wonders... i had a 610 Novak esc but i had put the wires on wrong and it went nuclear :( it was a nice one... but that was a loooooong time ago... i'm planning on putting a cyclone in my TL-01... i want it to be a serious race car... i got a 13t platinum speedgem in it right now...

So what other options do you have on your TA-02?

tanga
05-30-2001, 03:02 AM
TA03drive,

what ESC do you use in your TA02? how many T's do you use in your spur and pinion gear? and what is the best combination of mod motor and ESC? i want to make my TA02 really fast!!!

Billy
05-30-2001, 03:50 AM
Yep for an older esc it work's great i tried a 14t speedgems and a reedy 15t quad motor but i kept wrecking my car and there wasnt a whole lot of it left after a while so for now i decided to stick with stock motors. Sound's like your TL-O1 is going to be one fast hotrod.. :p

TA03 Drive Hard
05-30-2001, 06:41 AM
For my TA-02, i'm using LRP Sport w/reverse, but right now she's in "the shop" for an overhaul... it's in New Mexico right now... i left it there but i plan on goin back this july and hopefully i can bring her home... the speed tuned gears were givin me problems and the rear ball diffs were also a major prob too... but dont get me wrong... when she's runnin... she goes fast... even with a chameleon 19t... it's really shweeeeet ;)

Also... a 21t pinion and a 15quad speed gem would do just nice in that chassis...

a Novak Fusion or Dually would be perfect match

Sheeeeee i want my rides like that! :D My TL-01 is gonna have yellow invader rims from RPM mounted with HPI X-patterns... and the body is the Honda Civic SI painted in metallic purple with an offset stripe yellow, how's that sound?

TA03 Drive Hard
06-01-2001, 02:22 AM
Hey plus too, i found a site with a whole lot aftermarket parts for the TA-02... man it's gonna cost me over $375!!!!

Billy
06-01-2001, 04:46 AM
Hey you going to put a stereo system in it to? lol you would be suprised on what people can do with thier r/c cars. Man when you get done with it thats going to be a sweet looking ride.

tanga

TA03 drivehard,

what site did you see the aftermarket parts for TA02? thanks :)

TA03 Drive Hard
06-01-2001, 11:50 PM
Try GPM... i meant that's where i saw them... but just to warn you... the prices are hefty!!!! i mean if you got the xtra eyeball to fork over go ahead... :D

i saw a carbon composite chassis... they want 90 bones for it!!! but im sure it'll be worth it ;)

Billy
06-02-2001, 06:02 AM
Ya gpm has some nice stuff but it is spendy tower hobbies has that tamiya fiberglass renforced plastic chassis(frp) for $46.95 i have one its nice looks just like the gpm one's.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-02-2001, 03:53 PM
Hey i got that FRP set too

Billy
06-03-2001, 05:49 PM
It's a nice chassis compared to the stock tub or i should say stock rock collecter :D

TA03 Drive Hard
06-03-2001, 06:42 PM
The FRP chassis really makes my 02 fly... i mean i ramped it off street curbs and MAN  did it do 720 in all directions  it took a beating but kept on rolling :D but i think i gotta get a new one... well at least build one from scratch... like ordering the parts separate

Throtl Hapie
06-03-2001, 10:24 PM
Is the FRP chassis that much lighter than stock? I made my own chassis out of g10 fiber glass for my ta03, and the 2 pieces combined seemed to way more than the plastic tub, which alone seemed pretty light, and it is very stiff. My chassis didn't come out so great though, maybe Tamiya's is lighter.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-03-2001, 10:47 PM
I believe fiberglass is slightly heavier... FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) tends to be lighter than G10... also, did you cut out any unnecessary weight in the custom chassis you made? if not try shedding some off... but try not to risk the chassis integrity

tanga
06-03-2001, 11:42 PM
i just saw a TA 02, *&#% super lightweight R/C. i dont know where he get that parts. the chassis is carbon fiber. the suspensions, steering rod and the other parts are almost, i think it's aluminun. when i saw that car, i have only one reaction "sweet" :D i wish i can make my 02 the same with his car.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-04-2001, 12:04 AM

Ya the frp chassis realy made my tao2 fly to also improved the handling of the car as well and made it much more easier to clean. Also what i like about it is if you happen to break the chassis plate you can order just the plates and not have to get a whole new kit.

tanga
06-05-2001, 10:11 AM
yup im refering to any kit like HPI, Kyosho, etc....
how much is your FRP chassis for 02?

Billy
06-05-2001, 06:02 PM
Mine cost $46.95 at tower hobbies.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-06-2001, 02:59 AM
My 02 FRP chassis costed around $45... but i really want that carbon composite chassis... 90 smackers  oh ya!!! :D

Billy
06-06-2001, 07:49 PM
Wow 90 smakers for a chassis i think i can live with my frp chassis.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-07-2001, 02:33 AM
Hmm maybe... but i think havin that will add some real value to the car

Billy
06-07-2001, 04:48 AM
Well maybe if i was a hardcore racer and was racing for some cash and a big *** trophy.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-07-2001, 04:52 AM
Well hey, i'm not a racer... but havin that chassis sure would add value... i mean it looks sweet :D I'm really a collector... and i enjoy adding all those aftermarkets

Billy
06-08-2001, 05:58 AM
Yeah hoping up you r/c is pretty fun i think i allmost like doing it more than i do running it. :D

TA03 Drive Hard
06-08-2001, 09:12 AM
I still gotta get better shocks for my 02... when you pick up one wheel... the other 3 corners are still planted on the ground like it was a monter truck... i can lift it 1 inch high...

Billy
06-08-2001, 07:37 PM
You still have the stock shocks on it?
Because i do and i have the same problem with my shocks doing that to i was thinking the same thing looks like a monster truck.

Billy
06-08-2001, 08:00 PM
Do any of you guy's have the adjustable upper links (AKA camber rods) Because i have the stock upper links on my TAO2 and it just keeps tearing up tires i put on some proline v-rage tires s2 compound and just on one run in a parking lot and they were garbage the right front was bald and wore badly on the inside of the tire.
the left front was bald the rear tires wernt wore very much but i could see they were also wearing out on the inside and not even showing wear on the outside. So i was thinking a set of adjustable camber rods would fix this problem am i right or is it something else i need to change?
Thank's.

TA03 Drive Hard
06-08-2001, 10:08 PM
I had the same problem... with them tires... but it was on my TF-4... you can make your own upper adjustable links... you can use old tie rods if you have any and use the ball links to attach it or ball sockets (whatever you call it) cause that's what i did for my ta03

Billy
06-09-2001, 02:35 AM
So i take it proline v-rage tire's arent very good? So far i havent been real impressed with them.
I tried to make a camber rod's with my old tie rod's but the dog bones kept flying out.Do you know how long i should make them?
Thank's

TA03 Drive Hard
06-09-2001, 02:46 PM
Well try to measure them from the original upper links... them if needed, adjust to the length you need... just be sure its long enough, whether you are setting it for positive or negative camber... as for them v-rage... i went with the road rage, but still same prob... but i still like em :D

Billy
06-09-2001, 03:45 PM
Thank's for the help TAO3 Drive Hard :D .

I know that's the bad thing about these tire's they sure do grip well they just don't last :(

TA03 Drive Hard
06-09-2001, 04:09 PM
Ya i made my on upper adjustable links with all the spare parts i have... i mean i have tons of it... :p with 5 ta03s, 1 ta02, 1 tl01, 1 tf-4, and an rs4 sport 2, i have parts lyin everywhere, from my room to the dining room :D

Billy
06-09-2001, 05:47 PM
Man you must realy like tamiya car's
 .

TA03 Drive Hard
06-10-2001, 04:23 AM
Like em? I LOVE em :p i think Tamiya is the greatest... in my opinion... instead of racing in circles... i'd rather sedan drag race... i.e. Honda Civic SI vs. Mitsubishi Eclipse :D

Billy
06-10-2001, 04:53 AM
Yeah drag racing can be pretty fun i had a reedy type R modified 15t quad motor in a traxxas street sport and the only thing you could do was drag race it because all the car did was spin out all the time. :D But it sure was fast in a strait shot.

Billy
06-27-2001, 04:58 AM
What type of shock springs do you like to use on your TA02 car's with what weight of shock oil and shock piston's????

TA03 Drive Hard
06-27-2001, 10:25 AM
I use blue shocks(front & rear) and blue hard shock oil... i dont like my cars too bouncey... i like it firm and planted

Speaking of 02... i'll be going back to new mexico to be reunited with my 02 :D :p

Billy
06-28-2001, 02:22 AM
Are those blue tamiya shock springs?
And whats blue shock oil?
Sorry if these sound like stupid questions but it's my first onroad car.
Why is your 02 in new mexico?

[ 06-28-2001: Message edited by: Billy ]

TA03 Drive Hard
06-28-2001, 09:21 AM
Ya it's blue springs... those are the stiffest tamiya makes... and the shock oil is blue too that is the second thickest shock oil next to the purple color... oh my 02 is in new mexico cause i left it there... i was on vacation and i brought down 2 cars... my 02 and 03r

Billy
06-29-2001, 08:34 AM
thanks for the info :D

TA03 Drive Hard
06-29-2001, 10:01 PM
The only prob i have with my 02 right now it that the rear diffs kept on slipping... i need to find replacements for it... i wonder if the 03 ball diff will work

Billy
07-01-2001, 06:45 AM
I don't think the O3 ball diff will work in the O2 is it just that the 3mm balls are wore out?

Hey Tao3 drive hard how's the trick tlo1 coming along?

TA03 Drive Hard
07-01-2001, 10:53 PM
My ball diffs are not worn... i found out the diff rings are sliding... causing my transmission to slip... i rebuilt the dang thing 5 times... so now... i use c.a. to lock the diff rings to the diff hubs and it works, no more slipping... as for my TL-01 :( she's coming out real slow... im still in need of 2 certain parts and they never seem to have it in stock... whaa whaa whaa :(

Billy
07-02-2001, 08:55 AM
I just used some thick diff grease on mine to fix that problem. :D

TA03 Drive Hard
07-02-2001, 09:38 AM
What kinda diff grease is it?

Billy
07-03-2001, 05:31 AM
I don't remeber the name of the stuff i think it's called power punch it's used on real cars and trucks and the grease is red in color and very tacky i got some from a friend it works very well. ;)

TA03 Drive Hard
07-03-2001, 10:12 AM
Wow  that must be some good stuff if it's for real automobiles...

...dude, i was drag racing a real car!!! :D
My TF-4 w/Honda Accord body started out first and fast lol i was laughin... but the guys tuned Honda was wicked

Billy
07-03-2001, 05:21 PM
Yep it is good stuff :D So did you win the race?

RustlerBoy
07-03-2001, 11:58 PM
i think my car is too heavy, i want to reduce the weight. what will i do? Tanga

I drilled holes underneath the battery are and on top of the motor area to save weight and make them both run coller.

My frined gave me a TA02 with full bearinbgs and full ball diffs, and It runs great. He gave it to me if I fixed up HIS Ta02 and I did. SWEET!!!

TA03 Drive Hard
07-04-2001, 01:05 AM
Well considering it was a 4 way street... i think i won lol :D but my ride was slammin

To make your 02 lighter or even better... get the FRP chassis from tower hobbies... it's a great improvement... try not to drill to many holes in that tub chassis of yours... you may risk the integrity  but i glad some of us still have 02s lyin around

Billy
07-04-2001, 04:41 AM
Do your self a favor and get rid of that pastic motor mount and save your self a few striped gears. but like Tao3 drive hard said don't drill on the stock tub chassis get the frp chassis and shock stays they are so much better than stock.tamiya also makes light weight aluminum pressure plates for the ball diff and light weight step screws.

Does anyone have a TAo2SW they want to sell, I think the kit was a Taison Starcard Porsche. Would love to find one unbuilt but open to offers. :( :D

Billy
07-04-2001, 08:43 PM
whats the sw stand for "super wide" ?????

TA03 Drive Hard
07-04-2001, 10:33 PM
The TA-02SW is the short wheel base wide chassis kit... and ya it was the Taisan Starcard... no longer in production... but if you can get your hands one, well good luck... i have 3 of the porsche bodies... one is painted silver & includes mock tail pipes like the real GT2... and this body is mounted on my TA-03RS TRF kit

Billy
07-05-2001, 04:02 AM
Just how old is the tao2 car's?? My kit was made in 1993 they doesn't seem all that long ago to me.

TA03 Drive Hard
07-05-2001, 01:15 PM

Billy
07-05-2001, 02:39 PM
Any of you TAO2 owners run the skylane long front arm set? If so does it really improve handling?

TA03 Drive Hard
07-06-2001, 06:51 PM
If there was then that was years ago... i'm sure it passed me up even before i got into rc... your best bet is to look around this site and look up past issues of rcca... i'm sure it's around here... sorry i couldnt be much of help... but what is it exactly you lookin for?

Billy

If there was it's probably in a old issue back in the early 90's :D

TA03 Drive Hard

07-08-2001, 12:40 AM
I am looking for a 2nd look, you know when they fully modify it and tune it, or a project, where they justhop the crap out of it? Thats what I am looking for, or even just a site that I can go to that has someone who did that!

Billy
07-08-2001, 05:54 AM
I don't think the tao2 is popular enough for r/c car action to trick it out and do an article on it.

TA03 Drive Hard
07-08-2001, 09:20 AM
Hmm... that's true... they usually review the cars... but now they are beginning to do articles on a maxxed out hopped-up car or truck... like the TC3

I don't know why tamiya lists the skyline long front arm set as a hop up option when it's not a hop up i wasted $26 on this set and it was allready on my car.

well basicly its just a stock front end rebuild kit. I thought i was getting a kit that would give me more width in the front.

TA03 Drive Hard
07-10-2001, 10:03 PM
Hmm... that is a bit miss leading... but i havent bout one yet... how much you payed?

Billy
07-11-2001, 12:55 AM
I spent $25.39 for it. it's a great kit if need to restore your stock tao2 but if you have a hoped up tao2 with bearings and universals and use the frp shock stays then it's a waste of money.

I had a ta02, the chevy S10. I put HPI white mesh rims and radials on it.... then I sold it to my cousin, who I haven't seen since, he was supposed to make it work so I could have someone to race with. :( Anwyay I bought a ta03f instead. :)

Help steering Problem!!
When i get my tao2 up to speed the car will wonder to the right real bad and i can't keep it going in a strait line no matter where i set the steering trim on the radio. I have adjusted the steering rods to where the manual says to set them at and have the wheels pointing strait so im thinking maybe i need a stronger servo and a better servo saver any sugestions?? Right now i use a standard futaba servo with the servo saver that came with the kit.
What do you guy's use on your tao2's??

Billy
07-15-2001, 09:13 AM
Do universals make much of a difference on these car's??

Throtl Hapie
07-17-2001, 09:26 PM
Yes. I put universals in my ta03f, and they help a lot. With the dogbones, the front of the car skips and hops a lot, you can even hear them clash. Pick the car up, lock the front wheels in one direction, and give throttle. You will see the front wheels jerking all over.

Billy
07-19-2001, 12:06 AM
Do you think maybe my front dog bones are causeing my car to wonder to the right?

Billy

Do you think maybe my front dog bones are the cause for my steering problem?? They are a little wore out.

I was looking through a bunch of old mags, and the Tamiya Hummer's chassis looks just like mine. The Hummr is a TA01, and i took my car to the hobby shop and they said they were pretty sure it was an 02, do they both look very alike? The Picture I am talking about the Hummer is in the Military article about 1-1.5 yrs back in RCCA

For increased width, use the Blazing Star arms, dogbones, etc.

Billy
07-27-2001, 02:37 PM

TA03 Drive Hard
07-27-2001, 07:14 PM
My 02 was primarly "crap-go" car... i used her for all kinds of stuff... as for the parts that's i mentioned some were scattered and/or need rebuilding or in need of being replaced... my 03s are strictly for show except for 1 which i do bash around with... lately i been street racing my Kyosho TF-4 and i recently got the HPI RS4 Sport 2... i need to tweek it

Timba
07-27-2001, 09:03 PM
Sorry it took so long to reply - I've been pretty busy. The Blazing Star arms are part # 0005378. That includes the arms and the camber links, plus some miscellaneous parts. The dogbones are part # 9805370. You'll need 2 of each. You'll also need an assortment of screws to assemble the arms, and a set of turnbuckles for the steering.

I just measured the new and old parts. It looks like the Blazing Star parts are about 1 1/4" wider, so it should be about 2 1/2" wider, total. For an even wider stance, I use Stampede front wheels. Their offset helps even more. To make them bolt on without boring them out, I use the Tamiya TG10 rear wheel axles. Their extra length extends through the thicker wheels.

How could i speed up my TA02? right now it has 4 oil shocks, rooster ESC, 11t Double turn engine, and original gear set running 2WD right now. i had a few questions

Would i notice speed difference with a 2400/3000 battery instead of my 1500's.

If i bought a cyclone ESC, would that help my speed?

Where can i get a gear set for my car to improve the speed?

and is there anyway to make my chassis lighter?

thx for the help, ill have more questions no doubt :)

The O2 is old but a good car i was racing against my brother's tc3 we both run 27 turn stock motors and close gear ratio's we wanted the cars as even as we could get them.I out ran him bad  my o2 was flying thru the corners he could only catch me in the straits but as soon as we hit he corners i was gone :D we even worked on his tc3 together to get it to handle better because it get's boreing when there is just 2 of you and one is laping the other one ;) . I was suprised i thought i was going to have to block him and wreck him just to keep up :D but the O2 really held it's own very well. Now for any tc3 owners i am in no way saying that the tc3 is junk or anything like that so don't go getting all pissed off at me :p

Hey, I just won a TA02 Castrol Toyota Celica rally car off of eBay and I have a question. I know you are supposed to glue the tires to the rims...but, the car was obviously used, but the tires were not glued on(also no inserts).
Since this is my first rally car, should I glue the rims and should I use inserts(anyone know what size? 26mm I think)?
I'm guessing the previous owner may have used the stock 540 motor and didn't have to glue 'em on.

TA03 Drive Hard
08-30-2001, 04:28 PM
YES you should glue your tires and place tire inserts... this will prevent your tires from coming out from the rims... plus the inserts add support to the tire walls... and ya i am sure your wheels are 26mm...

Asmenoth

I have universal's on all four corner's now.Tungsten carbide diff ball's and a aluminum pressure plate set and the hollow carbon gear shaft set.
The Aluminum pressure plate set realy made the ball diff a lot lighter plus it came with a one piece ball thrust bearing which makes the ball diff run much smoother.
I also rebuilt the gearboxes they really needed it my O2 run's very smooth and quite now it's even faster and my run time's are longer then they were before. :D

Has anyone here tried the driveline that GPM makes for the tao2? If so is it worth buying?

Tsukai
11-05-2001, 08:03 PM
Hi,
Uh, I've been outta the RC loop for a bit. I got an old TA02SW that i built with the oneway front, carbon shaft and uprights.
Anyway, i got some questions.

1) What are these Skyline speed gears i've seen mentioned? do they convert the car to a faster gear ratio?

2) My carbon upright pieces are loose, the mount holes are too big for the screws. What do i do to fix this?

3) Anyone happen to know the parts numbers i need to convert to regular TA02? I've got an earlier Skyline lid I wanna put on.

This car is a project basher, project meaning i got a color video camera inside it. Claim to fame is that it's 400 line resolution, 75 degree FOV, 1.0 lux, and 300 foot transmitting range. I even machined some parts for the mounting, but it weighs a ton now.

So, uh, that's my story.

Billy
11-05-2001, 08:21 PM
Yes the skyline speed tuned gear set gives you a higher gear ratio. The set includes a 69 tooth spur gear and a 66 tooth spur gear. Part#53217

As for the carbon upright pieces are you talking about the shock towers?

Tamiya makes a skyline long front arm set Part#53121 i know it says long front arm set but it's what came stock with my Tao2 it comes with every thing to build the front end for like $26 at tower hobbies.

Tsukai
11-05-2001, 10:01 PM
Thanks

Yeah, i'm talking about the shock towers. Mine shift around on the screws. I was thinking of trying to find some brass tubing bits to fill the gaps in the mount holes.

As for converting my SW to a regular, i thought TA02SW uses specialized Rear suspension arms? Mine appear to sweap pretty far forward of the rear end's output yokes. I figure those are the ones that need to be switched to get the normal wheelbase.

I'll just have to look at my lhs' old tamiya catalogue.

I have to check again, i only saw that once, and its very expensive!

I was 12 when I started RC and my elder brother already got a TA02 super hopped up.
I bought a TA03 to start and I saw those eye candy stuff on his car so i toke them for my stock 03...I didn't realise how difficult and how much $$$ was invested on a car that time so I just took whatever I wanted from it...I even used a solder gun to take some of the parts I can't screw out....

well you guys know what happened, my brother was quite mad at me. Now I wanna get him a new one and hop it up like his for him...thats why I'm still interested in this car..
I love Tamiya cars, I have a TA03-F, TA04 PRO and a TG10 and they are really some sweet cars.

You guys have any pictures of yours?
I'm really interested, thanks.

Can anyone show me a picture of the motor mount for the TA02. I'm pretty sure it's the round thing with a big hole for the pinion to go through and with many hole around that and also has 2 big things sticking out of it so that it can be screwed in right? I'd prefer the picture to be a front and side image. Thanks

What do you need it for?

i think the packaging for the metal hop-up replacement has a diagram but i threw mine away a long time ago.

Last i heard, LHS's can still order it from Tamiya.

Page six of this thread had some good links and part names.

Tamiya's website would also be a good placce to look for part numbers.

Anyone on here use the front aluminum uprights from GPM on the TA02. If so how good are they.?

Billy
01-05-2002, 05:32 PM
Does anyone use the aluminum A-arm's that GPM makes for the TAO2? Because i was thinking about getting a set but it doesn't look like you can still use the optional rear sway bar with them.

Thanks Billy.
