hey i just got an evader (not here yet) but i wanted to race it and was wondering what motor to get and esc? i want to enter the stock class and eventually the mod class. (keep in mind that im a newbie) now what is stock class? and what is mod class? what motor should i get for mod class? and esc?? which motors are good? ive heard that the lower turn count the better and lower the winds the more punch/torque and higher winds is faster more rpms so which motor will be good for offroad mod class? and can i keep the stock motor and esc for stock class?
oh yeah and the higher the turn count is slower and not alot of torque? or alot of torque?

Check out the most recent issue of rc car action. They tested some motors and stuff and at teh end of the review they gave a table for each class and what motor range you should use for that particular class. :)

For stock class racing, the included ESC will work fine. For stock racing, there is usually one 'hot' motor for a track, so find what that is and use it. For trucks it's probably the Trinity P2K, which has a lot of torque, what you want in a truck motor. Stock motors all have bronze bushings, 24 degrees of timing, and 27 turns of wire around each armature pole.
For modified racing, you will need a new ESC for motors below 20 turns. Again, there will probably be a hot wind (Number of times a strand of wire is wound around each armature pole: AKA turn) for your track, so pick a motor in the range. Usually you want about 15 turns or more with a truck, but some tracks will allow a motor as low as 12-13 turns.
Any ESC that can handle the wind you will likely use will work fine. One with a 12-turn limit will be good for just about every application. Novak, LRP/Associated, Hitec, Futaba, and GM all offer quality ESCs.
