RC Jack

wanabedriver, the bearings have to be tight or they'll spin within their seats. So, until I find some that are "loose" turning, I'll have to redesign the front end some.

:D :D Thanks all. Actually, it's mold! It's green to contrast with the body.....if it ever gets done. Very complex scheme, plus the fella that's painting it came down with bronchitus to further delay finishing, besides, I'm not ready for the body yet, so, he can take his time and take care of his health(!).
Well, I did find some replacement "bearings", the balljoints from an EK(!), just the steel ball part, not the plastic that it's seated in. Using a .375" ball endmill, (the ball is .378"), to make the seats, then, lap them in and secure them with a retainer. They turn very easy with about .002" play. I can live with that! So, when I get some time, I'll knock those off, along with new upper control arms.

The new balljoints are made and steering is so much easier, even with a 133oz/in servo. Now, I have to make new shock mounts, due to the shocks being placed inboard 3/8".
Well, I got word from the fella that's painting my Dodge Ram, IT's DONE!! And ships tomorrow! I've seen pix of the body and........I'm speechless!! This guy outdid himself!
Before it gets mounted, truck has to be disassembled and select components sent out for anodizing, which should take about a week or so. This is beginning to sound like that episode of Dallas where JR gets shot and everyone had to wait 'til next season to find out "Who shot JR?". :D

hey since you have a .70 in there you should try out those new kong tires from Imex..
RC Jack
06-24-2003, 12:18 PM
I was considering those, but, never looked into them....to give it a more realistic appearance, but, I would have to gear down to compensate for the large diameter of the tires. Now, I don't know what the wheel diameter is for those tires, but, if it's the same as a Monster Pirate or EK, they're worth considering, if not, then, I would have to make some new wheels & rims.

Kyosho Monster....Burglar? Kyosho Monster....Mugger? Kyosho Monster.....Rapist? You did say "type of criminal!:D :D :D
Meanwhile, here's an update on the new front suspension: new balljoints, (these are KEEPERS!), new control arms, both uppers & lowers, new shock mounts. The new mounts set the tops of the shocks outboard 1.125" further than the previous mounts, and raked back 15 degrees further and are now inline with the suspension movement. These mounts took most of the day to make due to the varying angles, (very tricky to cut!) and they literally, fried my brain! Left one needs to be sanded & mounted; the right one needs to be trimmed, sanded & mounted.
Oh, I did manage to break off a drill bit in one of the shock holes!  It was a teeny-weeny bit, a #54. Because I chose to make these mounts out of 7075, I was able to drill straight thru with a titanium bit! :) If it was 6061, the bit would have drifted.

You're right, RCdude21, but, running a 4-link and independant suspension doesn't allow for a whole lot of choices and right now, it was the only way to address certain issues. I am working on a different steering setup, but, I will say this much, This Steering works NIIIICE! Besides, if any part breaks, it'll be easy to repair.

I've been debating on whether to post pix with the body or wait 'til it's anodized.....Ok......here it is with the Dodge Ram body. (yea, I know, it needs an alignment, both body & wheel). The fellas at TEAMDUZE, (TeamDuze) (http://www.teamduze.com) , did an outstanding job on this one!! I don't know how many masks were used, tho, I would have to say several, and I'm sure they were pulling their hair out postioning them! I know I would have! Everything on this truck is either handpainted or airbrushed, ie, NO DECALS! Headlights, taillights, all airbrushed. These guys are good!
To quote their website, "This body is on fire, literally!" Approximately, 14 different colors were used to achieve the results I was looking for. If it were me that was painting this, 1 or 2 colors, any more than that an I'd be lost!:D
Now, if I can talk the "ball & chain" into letting me get a vid-cam.......

Think scale now, try to think how big it would be, eweeeeee.

maybe make it a bit lower or but on some bigger whells and tiers.
Please do not take me 4 a jerk saying this, its is only MY oppinion,

bad viking, the way this particular sits on the rollcage, makes it looks too high, and it does. In truth, I was expecting this Dodge body to be bigger & wider than it is, in other words, it's a big dissappoinment, but, the paintjob rocks! I should have went with HPI Ford F-150 Body 300mm, but, I'm a loyal MoPar man and have been for 40+ years. The I have 2 other bodies that make this truck look more realistic as far as height goes and when they get done, I'll post pix of those, bringing the height illusion down.
Hey, MaxxThrasher, I guess I'll have resign myself to the fact that we both have works of art!!  Too bad this Dodge body is so small!:(
What am I going to do now? Maybe 1/4 scale MT. I'd really like to get away from this costly 2-stroke fuel. Buck & a half a gallon for gas is a lot better than $20 a gallon for nitro.

It weighs around 14lbs+/-, according to my bathroom scale.
The dimension are:
18.25" wide at the front
19.0" wide at the rear
19.750" long
13.75" wheelbase
14.25" high
Front Track: 13.25"
Rear Track: 14.0"
How much did the body cost? $26

why no 4WS? too much of a challenge? (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)yea right. u gettin lazy on this project? or is your 100 million hours in it enough? the most i ever did in an "R/C project" was paint my savage wheels black and replace the upper arms w/ turnbuckles. even if i had the cash, i dont think i would have the patience for a project more than a week long, oh well

you should really concider sending a pic it to R/C car action. u would most defenitly get ride of the month and a good shot at ride of the year(if that wood maxx guy dosnt finish in time or dosnt want to enter)
on a different subject, u should make a 4 link 1/5th scale monster or someone needs to anyway it would be awsome

Besides, I don't think MaxxThrasher will be done for some time.......TERMITES!:D :D Maybe he should have the ORKIN MAN standing by.:D He does have a hekuva nice project going!

Just out of curiousity, but what stance should a MONSTER truck have? Should it be lowered to the point where it can flip on it
RC Jack
07-11-2003, 11:13 AM
DCLXVI, The MoPar thing is still here, but, it's just a show bod and much too small, almost as if it was for a 1/10 scale, much too narrow. Just fitting it on over the rollcage is a tight fit and with usage, will scratch the underside. With the advent of everyone jumping on the monster truck bandwagon, you'd think that ProLine, Parma, HPI or whomever, will make a realistic looking & fitting body for a 1/8 scale monster truck"MoPar" stands for Motor Parts. This Parma '50 Chev Panel and HPI F-150 300mm are just that...1/8th scale. They have the length AND width! Too bad the HPI Dodge is so small!!
BTW, "MoPar" stands for "Motor Parts"
As far as "sticking up so high", maybe you should ask Dennis Anderson or Bob Chandler why their trucks are so high. It's a monster truck. Monster trucks ARE high. And no, it's not a crawler.......not with a 70 engine!
John, betchu think I abandoned Dodge, huh? After all, I did "sink" the money into the killer paintjob on the Dodge. I just want a body that fits and Angelina Joli's body was unavailable!:D :D

Oops...I suppose I should finish my thought! Duh!
Just out of curiousity, but what stance should a MONSTER truck have? Should it be lowered to the point where it can flip on it's roof and still have it's wheel's on the ground? I've never understood the concept of a lowered monster truck. In all honesty, what is the sense of having a "monster" truck if you're going to lower it?
RCJack was trying to create a "realistic" scale MT. Realistic isn't independent suspension with it lowered down to almost no ground clearance.
If that worked best for "real" trucks, why isn't Dennis Anderson, Tom Ments, or anyone else running it?
I know to each their own, but I just never understood the concept of having a monster truck just to lower it. At that point it's not a monster, it's a stadium racer.
RCJack - the Parma body looks sweet. Angelina Joli? Whew! Now we're talking bodies!
:D
BTW - If you're a redneck like me, Mopar stands for "More Power," but you have to say More Power with a redneck accent for it to make sense. Kind of like "More Pawer." :p

John, as longas you're an admitted redneck, something I won't concede to, then, these might be appropriate:
(courtesy of RCJim's Place)
1. You take your dog for a walk and you both use the same tree.
2. You can entertain yourself for over an hour with a fly swatter.
3. You burn your yard rather than mow it.
4. The Salvation Army declines your matress.
5. You think fast food is hitting a deer at 65 mph.
6. You offer to give somebody the shirt off your back and they don't want it.
7. You come back from the dump with more than you took.
8. You keep a can of Raid on the kitchen table.
9. Your grandmother has 'Ammo' on her Christmas list.
10. You think a subdivision is a part of a math problem.
11. Your kids take a siphon hose to show and tell.
12. You have a used rag for a gas cap.
13. Your house doesn't have curtains but your truck does.
14. You wonder how service stations keep their restrooms so clean.
15. Your wife uses a pair of pliers to open & close her purse.
16. Your wife asks you to move the transmission so she can take a bath.
You did say that you're a redneck!:D :D

We are really glad that you are happy with the body. Sad to hear that it did not fit the true dimensions of the truck. It ROCKS though.
I have to say that I had a hard time parting with that one from the shop. But that is OK I have a Killer Dodge Power Wagon for my T and Savage.
RC Jack is a true Monster Truck R/C enthusiast and has taken this hobby to a level that many of us aspire to get to.
When you start thinking of that 1/4 scale project let us know. We can really do some wicked things on larger canvas/body. :D Considering that our real trade is painting and that is all that I do all day every day. Real differance in trades considering that up to 4 years ago I was a painter on the side and a full time Communications Engineer.
Anyhow, I posted the sizes of the bodies for you. Most manu's do not post size on the websites. If you go to Tower and look up the part number they place the size in the details. One thing that I was not sure if you understood was that the 300mm Ford body (Yuck!) is really made for the Super Nitro Rally and Super Nitro Street. They are quit shallow and I do not believe that they would look right either.
With the Grave Digger you are on the right path.

Yesterday, I got time to run it some and not too bad of a day.......not too good, either.! The clutch "slides" broke off, allowing it not to grip the flywheel, then the clutchspring broke, jamming the clutch. A new clutch is definitely needed! Then, from repeated braking, a few teeth on the 2 speed got sheared. As it stands now, an aluminum clutch will be used. A couple of months ago, I contacted a company that manufactures material suitable for clutches, high temp resistant, with a "higher coefficient of friction", (company term), meaning suitable for clutches. In the meantime, the steel gears have already been ordered. Should have them by the middle of next week.

figit, it handles well enough, turns sharper than my EK did. Can't imagine how much better it will steer with 4WS! Jumping.......haven't yet, still breaking in the new piston ring...for another couple of tanks, anyhow.
DCXLI, That's a nice looking GD! That's what I like to see(!), CHEVY CRUSHING CHEVY! Next, Ford crushing Ford......and Dodge gets to crush whatever's left standing.:D :D
Chis, that's some good info...and you're right, a lot of LHS don't post measurements of bodies, and as you said, Tower does. That info goes along way in choosing what fits and what doesn't. When I chose that Dodge, I took for granted that it would fit over the rollcage with no problem, after all, I had no reason that it wouldn't. But, all'n all, you did a fabulous job on the paintwork!!
The quarter scale is still up in the air right now, tho, I have done a little research on ring & pinions, which is mainly all I need to start it. To make these would cost me an arm and leg, 'cuz I'm not set up for making gears and have no plans to do so. The tube frame I'd get made to my specs, but, all of this is on hold...for now.

wizen2002, you're right about those other bodies. I think I'm on the right track with this '50 Chevy, ugh, Panel. Maybe one day, these companies that make the bodies, will get off their collective asses and make some bodies that are actually made, (LENGTH, WB & WIDTH), for a 1/8 scale MT, especially, in light of all of these MT manufacturers
jumping on the MT bandwagon! As far as I'm concerned, they could start out with the basic truck bodies, Ford, Chevy and Dodge Rams and go from there. Judging from the sales of 1/8 scale MT's, it would be a cash cow for them, at least from where I'm standing! But, what do I know, I'm just a lowly consumer!

If I decide to do the 1/4 scale, that MCD Dodge is the body that I had planned on using, tho, I never considered it for my truck, thinking it was much too big.
I just checked out that MCD Dodge. 510mm equals 20"+ WB. Waaaay too much WB and the width is a little too much. 9" wide would be just right.
I'm happy with the Parma 50 Chevy Panel, it's just not a Dodge; it has the WB & the correct width that I'm looking for. Now, I just have to come up with a paint scheme for the new one.

Mustang_child, how did I start this project? Well, it started like this, I was born in a log cabin, in the Himalayas, near Tibet......
Seriously, It's just something that I wanted to do. 10 years ago, I had a Kyosho Outlaw Rampage that I modified to the point of being unrecognizable as an Outlaw Rampage, reversed the engine, shortened the main driveshaft, 4 wheel disc brakes...and a cooling fan that ran off the engine. This truck WAS a show truck, but, I ignored that and had fun with it, instead! To do what I have done, I had to get my feet "wet" again in a RC monster trucks. Most everything out there is store-bought and very expensive, considering that various parts of any RC truck doesn't have too much of a life expectancy, I decided to machine my own, starting with my EK4. That one, I made most everything out of alloy, gearcases, etc., and I did that by hand without a mill or lathe and it came out great(!!)....until it got run over! So, rather than rebuild it, I went another route, design & build a true monster truck and this is the result.
Today, it had it's first 'shake-down" and all went really well, considering that I hadn't used any Loc-tite!! Just from the pix, only three screws were lost........and I got a "flat" tire, (no, they aren't pnuematic). They haven't been glued to the rims yet.
The temps never got above 230!
All I can say, if this truck had wings......
"flat" tire

The missing link....and it still handled great!

My daughter took some vids, tho, not the clearest, I think she did a pretty good job...considering she nearly got run over....."unintentionally"...of course! On one, she had to JUMP off the ground to keep from being hit!
:D :D When she gets back with my vids, I'll put them up. (them=plural, more than one...I think there's 4 or 5)

A few questions Jack; I notice you have an aluminum extension between your K&N air filter and the elbow. Is that a custom piece you made or is it something you found that would work? Does it have a lip for the filter to secure itself to so that it doesn't come off easily?
I have a friend that is looking for something like that for his truck and hasn't been able to find anything.
I'm DL-ing your vid now. Only have the beginning of it taking off and heading back. Looks very quick.
RC Jack

I made that too, Maxx, and it does have a lip on either end. What your friend could use is a short length of PVC pipe and use a Dremel to make a lip on both ends.

The steering radius on this truck is really tight, tho, at speed, their seems to be some push, but, that may be due to hard-packed dirt. We were only out for about 45 minutes, enough to run 7 tanks thru it, then it started to rain. I seriously though about running in the mud, but, I had already "lost" one of the 4-links and didn't want to "lose" anything else, (nothing was Loc-tite'd), so, I called it a day.
Right now, the truck is stripped down so, I can get it ready for either anodizing or powder coat. I'd like to be able to run it again and wring the clutch out and see how it holds up, before it gets anodized, but, as of now, there is no visable signs of wear on it or the bell. And as far as I know, this clutch material has never been used for an EK, but, time will tell. I also have other clutch materials, either here or coming in the mails to "roadtest". I do, however, like the way this clutch hooks up..fast, quick & clean! A lot of people that have the EK with a 70 engine, whether it's version 1 or 2, have big clutch problems and the biggest cause of failure is heat, material is second. The design of this clutch displaces some of the heat from the clutch surface....so, we'll see......after it's anodized.
I will say this: THIS TRUCK IS FUN TO DRIVE!!
Yea, I rolled it, MrCrash. :D This truck's forte` is definitely not grass, unless I turn wide. On dirt, it handles entirely different. The suspension allows the tires to "give", so, it will slide rather than roll. On pavement, it handles the same way as it does on grass....shakey!
I think I may have to resort to installing a set of wheelie bars; the rear of the body got really chewed up....and that one is a new body. I have another show body coming from Chris @ TeamDuze (http://www.teamduze.com) and that one has to be protected. (these bodies cost money when you get them custom painted!!)
Sorry about the quality of the vid, but, I'm working on that, so future vids will be crisp & clear.
Thanks, Ben!

Because the 70 tends to go thru clutches, due to heat, I came up with this fix, a clutch cooling flywheel. Tho, this one is only a rough draft, it does move some air, so, it should cool the clutch and extend it's life.

RCdude21, these flywheels aren't available, yet. So, that rules out buying it...for now. And yes, I did make it. It'll get the job done of cooling the clutch & bell.
I made this one in a hurry, so, when I got to the cooling fins, I realized that my math was wrong, so, I have since trashed this one and started another.

I really hate to say this, but, there ain't a Dodge Ram body out there that actually has the length & width to fit a 1/8th scale MT! And look somewhat realistic!!
With all of the monster trucks coming out and most in need of a personalized custom body, other than what it came with, whatever company decides to actually make bodies that are not only proportionate, but, realistic looking, for a 1/8 scale MT, will be rolling in $$$!! I thought HPI did that with the Dodge Ram; they only lengthened it to fit the Savage!

Very innovative Jack! (RC Jack, Ben) :p
Have you thought about Venting the Bell itself?
RC Jack
08-04-2003, 12:44 AM
Yep, thought of those; they work on a 21, but, not on a 70(!), too much power, too much heat and they aren't that effective, much like the "vented" flywheels that are available.
MaxxThrasher
08-04-2003, 09:16 AM
I don't have any experience with the .70. This is a common problem with them? I know you've experimented with different shoe material, but have you tried aluminum shoes? I don't know what this would do for cooling though. Maybe you need a stronger clutch shoe spring? Maybe the shoes are constantly rubbing lightly?
Sounds like a strange problem from an engine that doesn't put out that much RPM. Guess it's all the torque. Is it constantly shifting with the 2 speed you have in it?
Venting the clutch bell, to me sounds like it would allow some heat to escape.
Sorry to unload on ya, sounds perplexing!
RC Jack
08-04-2003, 04:39 PM
Maxx, clutch failure is a big problem with the 70, mainly due to heat. Open clutchbells only contribute to failure by allowing dirt & debris inside. And while the spring can be an issue, it's not the problem, just the over all torque of the 70, using a 21 size clutch. While what I've done is only an aid, the only real way out is a clutch of proper proportions to the 70's demands, ie, more surface, heat resistant material, good wear characteristics and of course, a fast quick & clean hook-up doesn't hurt either.
There is a "new" clutch out for the 70, but, I have my reservations about that one, steel against steel, with a thin layer of "rubber" betwen them. There has never been an instance where steel against steel in a friction device has ever worked for too long! Mention has it that it's a heli clutch, which from what I have seen, run at a steady RPM...monster trucks don't! Will it work? Sure...for a while. And so goes the ongoing search for the ultimate EK clutch.
MaxxThrasher
08-04-2003, 04:43 PM

Put in another channel with a manual clutch..... A big one..
RC Jack
08-13-2003, 11:09 PM
You're right, Maxx, a 70 size clutch would be in order, if this one doesn't work out.
The slider-type clutch is fine, it's just the heat that destroys clutches.
A manual clutch would be a real pain in _ _ _ to use and probalby take co-ordination to a new level.:D

RC jack, after its all done, you should try to up-grade it to a gas engine ,like a 1/5 scale engine and a set of jumbo Maxx tires. I'm sure the diffs can take a gas engine. the tires on your truck currently look a little bit to small and make the truck look top-heavy.

"D"...none of the above.:D Too much color makes it look rather..."like a circus".
As far as upgrading to a gas engine, due to the frame rails design, a gas engine won't fit without heavy mods and if I do that, then, I might as well make new frame rails. I still have a Monster Pirate that I can "convert". :D :D
As much as this truck looks top-heavy, check out the vids, the only time it rolled was on grass. It's not designed to handle like a buggy, but, it does handle like a monster truck!
BTW, these tires ARE Jumbo-Maxx! Kong tires are out of the question; they'd alter the final gearing waaay too much.

lol, theres 20 pages worth of stuff for this thread, can you tell me what page the videos are On? lol
RC Jack
08-15-2003, 09:37 PM
The vids are on pg 14 & 15. Another few pages and I'd nearly have a novel. :D
The vids aren't that clear, nor is there anything that resembles jumping or anything else, they are just from the initial shakedown run...to seat everything.......or unseat everything. I only lost 2 bolts, one of those bolts dropped a link on the front suspension......and still handled great!
Enjoy.
There'll be new vids in a week or 2. These should have some action in them!!

Friday, I got the parts back from Pittsburgh Anodizing, even the wheel centers were anodized; cleaned off the bench, put down a towel and laid them all out for reassembly. Just when I got the most of it back together, the new body arrived. Talk about timing! Again, Chris @ Teamduze (http://teamduze.com) did another great job(!), as did Pittsburgh Anodizing! The parts that weren't anodized were buffed & polished to a mirror finish. There were a couple of "faux paus" that were corrected before it went for anodizing, like cutting new rear control arms, the front driveshaft was being cut, (need a new one), by the rear cup when the suspension was fully extended, the exhaust pipe was hitting the rear shock mount. I'll be posting pix in a couple of days; still waiting on a new temp gauge. There are only 2 things that I can say about the "NEW" truck: 1. it looks really different! And 2. This truck is..... SURGICALLY CLEAN!!!

Exceedingly clean! If it wasn’t for the extreme customization it would look like a factory build. Very professional work Jack, way to go!

Wow, I didn't even notice the extra 2 shocks in the front and the rear. You should submit this truck to RCCA, Kevin would be very jealous.. Good job on all of that, looks very cool, and i'm very envious.

Fact is, Spooph, someone on another board contacted RCCA and that they wanted to do a feature on it, but, at the time, this new body was being painted, so, they wanted to use one of their's(!), which I graciously declined, tho, I would get to keep the body. (because it would take from the appearance & theme) The other reason, is that they wanted me to ship it to them , insured, of course, where they said they would "need" it for a week. I offered to drive up there, only 419 miles away, and according to Matt Higgins, they would, in that case, only need it for a day or 2. (what would they be doing with it for the rest of the week....had I shipped it to them?:D ) In a later email, they re-iterated that I should ship it to them. Again, I declined to ship it, but, offered to drive up there. This is according to Matt Higgins, an editor at RCCA. I haven't heard from him since!
Someone on another board also said Kevin would be very jealous, so........
I didn't build this to get put in a magazine, but, for myself and if a magazine wants to do a feature on it, that's great(!), but, I will not compromise my work or it's appearance to do so....and if they'd rather run their 10,000th T-Maxx feature instead of something excitingly new, fresh, & different then, so be it, it's their magazine.
Thanks Maxx! "exceedingly clean? :D I call it....surgically clean.:D
Thanks, Sparks!
I can say: THIS TRUCK IS DONE! Finished? NEVER!

Bob: If you sent the truck to them I gaurantee that they would run it. If you are there atelast you are like a hawk watching over your prey.
I also agree with the statement about letting them write another T-Maxx blow out. If you saw the prices they charge for advertising then you would puke. They charge more than the Hot Rod mags that I list my real painting service in. CRAZY! F00000LS
I have a Maxx that I have customised to the teeth and I hate people even touching it.
Glad to see that the body looks much more to size and looks great.
We look forward to your next project.

just a 9mm? Common man, loose the sissy pistol and get yourself atleast a .50 AE Desert Eagle. Personally I like the .454 Casull, but to each there own. Jack, after hearing that, I wouldn't send it to them even if they asked, knowing what I do now. Anyways, still a badass truck, what's the next upgrade? (you said you'd never be finished.)

im the captian of my pistol club so ive shot a few in my time
there isnt much advantage from a 9mm to a .45
9mm, if anything is more accurate and more userfriendly, there is a hel of a lot mroe kik from a .45 and thus needs mroe bringing bak to the sighting pssition.
a 9mm Tanfoglio match grade semi auto would be my pick :)

MonsterBlazer#1, I'm just messin' w/ya man. It's all in good fun, and it seems like you're doing exactly what I want to do... Just prolly not right at this point in my life.. Anyways, the first time I shot a .454 Casull the thing scared me half to dead, that's all I was basing it on. But Dad also has a 9mm, not as competition spec as yours, but they're quick. Anyways, have a great day, the throttle pegged, and keep da 9mm on target.

rhcsavage21, someone on another board mentioned that, too, tho, I haven't seen the mag anywhere. I'll have to see if I can snag a copy somewhere.
According to the "powers-that-be", RCCA will be doing a multi-page feature on Pie Wagon, as well and should be a more detailed, in depth feature, using their own photogs. I'm counting on it being on the cover.
newbie, I'm not even going to comment on that remark.

What's up, John? Ain't been on in a while, I've been up to my neck in everything else...none of it RC. Anyhow, how my EK got run over? I was running it up the hill in back of the house an up in the alley with a few other RC's. The fella that ran it over, 1. I didn't like him cuz he's a pseudo-bully and 2. he was drunk and got behind the wheel of his car. Well, as I was going by his garage, he backed out into the alley, (the garage door was closed!:D ), and right over my EK. (He put it thru his homeowner's, along with the garage door.) The only thing that saved some of it was the rollcage, and that snapped right off the mounts, but, it protected the engine & gearcases. Everything else was, for lack of a better word, FUBAR'D ; the chassis was somewhat bent and not worth straightening and everything else that was alum alloy would have to be re-fabricated and if I'm gonna do that, then, let's go for broke! That's when I decided to make a real monster truck...Pie Wagon.
I thought that I had mentioned this before? Guess not.
I'm curious, John, what did the engineers where you work have to say about Pie Wagon? I'd be very interested in their slant!
Thanks, Chase, tho, they are only in Reader's Rides . RCCA's approach should be way better, as they used their own photographer!
BTW, Wally-World just started carrying RC-Driver, as well as CarAction.
People that make comments like that are ones that think that it only takes a bit of aluminum, a few screws and 4 tires and and it's "done". They have no concept, comprehension or appreciation of what's involved in an undertaking of this magnatude and therefore, very callous, in making remarks such as what was said.
Boy, I thought the EK drew crowds whenever I ran it, but, it's nothing compared to Pie Wagon. EK's take a back seat...to Pie Wagon(!)...any EK!:D So much for a "rollover mobile". :D :D Check out the vids, newbie45!

You'll have to manually type it into the command line, In place of the asterisks, type in r-c-p-i-c-s, without the dashes. There's no remote linking anymore to r-c-p-i-c-s. Sorry.

Freak e-maxx1, the unit that I used to machine Pie Wagon was a Smithy Granite 1220; as for the price, it was less than posted on their website. It's a good machine for the home hobbyist.
